Organic cotton and hemp, harvested and manufactured without using pesticides and or sweatshop labor, among other sustainable textiles, now consist of the majority of the fabrics used in Passenger Pigeon garments.  This practice reflects Passenger Pigeon's deep appreciation for the environment, as well as their strong conviction to promote healthy living conditions.  The garments are designed, sewn, dyed, and screen printed in Toronto, Canada.

* Hand printed 100% organic cotton twill bodice and skirt

Made from: 100% organic cotton bodice and skirt and 56% soy, 36% organic cotton, 8% spandex top.
Care: Machine wash cool, dry flat or on low heat.

About the Brand
 
When Europeans first arrived in North America, it is estimated there were 500 billion Passenger Pigeons in North America; the equivalent to the complete number of North American bird species today.Passenger Pigeons were so plentiful their flocks would eclipse the sky for hours and days on end. It is said that a single bullet aimed into this mass could kill 30 to 40 birds.

Sought after for cheap food, and perceived as an endless pest, Passenger Pigeons were hunted en mass until protective measures preventing the grand scale felling of the bird were put in place during the late 1800's. Yet the protective legislation proved to be too little too late, and was unsuccessful at stopping the species extinction in 1914.

The story of the Passenger Pigeon serves as a reminder and inspiration to support environmental practices and organizations. Our garments are made predominantly of organic ecologically responsible ingredients, and furthermore, our company donates a small percentage of our profits to FLAP.
